I love food. I love everything about it. I look buying it, I love cooking it, and I definitely love eating it. I’m a big fan of international foods, my favourites are curries, pastas, pizzas, noodles, stir fries… I could go on.

I’m particularly partial to anything spicy, and other than being vegetarian, I’m pretty experimental and love finding new foods to try. The more food I find to enjoy, the more fun I have eating. But there’s a world of food out there and I don’t know what I’m missing out on.

To help me discover new foods, the experts at The Picky Eater sent over some research into which is the most popular international food, so I can make a list of what I need to try next!

International Food

The Picky Eater looked at Instagram hashtags to figure out the most popular meal options, cuisines, and restaurants. Then, they looked at the 50 cities on the Government list that get the most visitors, and they came up with a list of 65 different cuisines from around the world. Then, for every city, they counted the quantity of cafés serving these 65 foods utilizing information from Foursquare’s Programming interface. In the end, they looked at 82,995 restaurants in those cities that might serve more than one cuisine.

The study by pickyeaterblog.com observed that Italian food is the most famous around the world, trailed by Japanese. Pizza is the most popular dish, beating out barbecue for second place and brunch for third place.
