On the JJ Barnes Blog, I check out research from Bucket List Travels which found that 54% of us have bucket list travel experiences we want to do, with seeing the Northern Lights coming out on top.

I would love to be able to travel more. There’s so much world to see and so many things to do, I’d love to be able to start ticking off some of my dream destinations. Maybe one day I’ll get to, so, (if I can keep hope alive) I ough to make a bucket list of travel experiences that I would like to accomplish so I know where to start!

With that idea in mind, I thought I should check out research that found what other people have on their bucket list travel experiences so I can get some ideas of the places in the world I should definitely try and see.

Aspirations To See The World

The majority of Brits believe that their greatest regret at the end of their lives will be not having seen enough of the world, according to a new study by Bucketlisttravels.com. Bucket List Travels, a new specialist travel inspiration website dedicated to the discovery of the world’s greatest “bucket list” travel, conducted the poll of more than 2,000 Brits, and found that the majority of us have some kind of travel bucket list, but only 14% of us actually write it down.

Over a third of us travel whenever we get the chance, and 56% of us say we’d like to see at least five more countries in our lifetime. This is highest (nearly 50%) among singles and younger age groups, which is not surprising. However, waiting for retirement accounts for almost a quarter of married couples and cohabiting couples.

Bucket List Travel Experiences

Over a quarter (27%) of the thousands of people polled said that they wanted to see the Northern Lights, followed by a road trip to the United States (17%), a safari in Africa (16%), exploring the Great Barrier Reef (13%) and cruising Norway’s Fjords (13%).

According to Bucket List Travels founder Matt Roach it’s not surprising that the Northern Lights came out on top as the greatest light show in the world is one of nature’s greatest spectacles; a remarkable, ethereal light show.

Seeing Niagara Falls, going to the Eifel Tower, marveling at the Pyramids of Giza, going to the Great Wall of China, and watching whales are also included in the top ten most desired experiences.

Traveling Helps Mental Health

Numerous holistic, physical, and mental advantages of traveling have been demonstrated by scientific research, and these advantages are significantly enhanced when traveling to a new location. According to the survey, 38% of us feel like we have accomplished something by going to a new place, 36% believe it refreshes their mental perspective on their lives, and 32% believe it helps them focus on the good things rather than the bad ones.

Travel, according to a lot of people, also helps them appreciate what they have, develop a greater awareness of their surroundings, and even get a better night’s sleep.

Making Travel Plans

According to Matt Roach, planning your next big adventure can often bring as much joy as the trip itself. We all require something to look forward to now more than ever. It has been shown to improve mental health to plan your next big adventure or just to look forward to going somewhere new or doing something special.

Six out of ten of us say that money, in addition to a lack of vacation time, the effort required to research, and the risk of traveling to a new location, is the primary barrier to completing our travel bucket lists.

Matt Roach explained that he wanted to create a reliable, one-stop website where people could quickly find memorable travel experiences and plan their vacations around them. There are so many amazing travel experiences available now more than ever.

If not now, then in the future. A “travel bucket list” stores the good ideas we find along the way and gives us something to look forward to and aim for when we need them.

Bucket List Travels

In addition to more than 25,000 images to astonish and inspire, Bucket List Travels currently offers more than 2,200 carefully selected, dependable recommendations from prominent, specialist travel writers. It includes many lesser-known but equally rewarding travel experiences in addition to the majority of the world’s signature and famous experiences (more are being added every week).

Travelers can save a lot of time by using an advanced search engine to quickly look up these recommendations and narrow the results down to what they specifically want.

The website’s goal is to assist travelers in planning their vacations by providing destination guides, suggestions for nearby lodging, recommendations for whom to book with, and pre-made, straightforward itineraries.

The goal of the website is to become a leading resource for travel planning by making researching trips on a bucket list much simpler. This will make the site the first place that travelers will go to when looking for ideas or starting to research their next trip. It particularly lets users save their favorites and make their own “travel bucket list.”

On Matt’s Wish List for Travel: taking the Hurtigruten up Norway’s western coast to see the Northern Lights, swimming in cenotes on the Mayan Riviera, seeing India’s Golden Triangle by train, snorkeling with blue whales in Sri Lanka, and so on.

My Travel Bucket List

I was incredibly lucky to be taken to New York City and Paris in my youth, but I would love to go back to both in adulthood. I want to explore the Meditteranean and enjoy the sunshine and beautiful food. I want to see the beaches in Hawaii because I love Lost, the Golden Gate Bridge because I love Charmed, and Hollywood in LA because I love film culture in general. I want to do Christmas properly by seeing the Christmas Tree in Vilnius, a Christmas market in Germany, and take the children to Lapland. I want to go to Ukraine when the war is over.
